Bill is a serial entrepreneur, a thought leader in translational immunology, and a practicing rheumatologist.
Bill is also a co-founder of Atreca and Bayhill Therapeutics. He runs a research laboratory that performs translational research investigating the roles of B cells, antibodies, and innate immunity in autoimmunity and arthritis. He is Chief of the Division of Immunology and Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University.
Bill is an inventor on more than twenty patent applications. He received his BS, MD, and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University and completed his clinical training in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
