James Macharia

James Macharia has a diverse work experience in software engineering. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at Pareto, where they lead the development, testing, and documentation of design systems. James is responsible for creating modular and reusable UI components that define the company's brand. Additionally, they have also collocated frontend apps, design systems, shared utils library, and styles library in a monorepo, resulting in significant time savings.

Prior to their current role, James worked as a Software Engineer at Kakbima from 2019 to 2021. Here, they developed the Kakbima insurance platform, which manages insurance products, policies, claims, and quotes. James led the frontend team, overseeing the development, testing, and specifications of the platform.

Before joining Kakbima, James gained experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Legibra in 2019.

James Macharia has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
