John Horan founded the Horan Family of Companies in 1986. In 2000, they served as Treasurer and Board Chair for The Denver Hospice until 2016. In 2016, they became the Chair of the Board of Directors for The National Lao-Hmong Memorial Foundation. Furthermore, John Horan has acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 1982, they obtained the Certified Mortuary Science Practitioner (CMSP) certification from the Colorado Funeral Service Board. Then, in 2000, they attained the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) certification from The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. Most recently, in February 2022, they achieved the Sommelier (Level One) certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas.
