John Horan

John Horan founded the Horan Family of Companies in 1986. In 2000, they served as Treasurer and Board Chair for The Denver Hospice until 2016. In 2016, they became the Chair of the Board of Directors for The National Lao-Hmong Memorial Foundation. From 2017, they worked as a Past Treasurer and Founding Member for the Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation. In 2019, they joined Park Lawn Corporation as a Senior Vice President.

John Horan has a diverse education history. John attended the University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business from 1974 to 1978, where they pursued a degree in Business with a focus on Real Estate/Finance. Following this, in 1981 to 1982, they attended the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, where they obtained a degree in Mortuary Science. Additionally, John has a B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado Boulder, although the specific dates of their enrollment are not provided.

Furthermore, John Horan has acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 1982, they obtained the Certified Mortuary Science Practitioner (CMSP) certification from the Colorado Funeral Service Board. Then, in 2000, they attained the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) certification from The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. Most recently, in February 2022, they achieved the Sommelier (Level One) certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas.
