Gerald Luckhurst is a Chartered Landscape Architect with extensive experience spanning several decades. Since June 1987, Gerald has operated as a Landscape Architect in private practice, while concurrently serving as the Business Owner of Jardim Formoso Lda, which has successfully employed over fifty professionals since its establishment in February 1996. As a Landscape Architect for Parques de Sintra since March 2009, Gerald contributed to the award-winning restoration of the Monserrate garden. Additionally, work with the Pestana Group includes designing and managing gardens for hotels in various locations. Earlier career roles include Project Landscape Architect at BDP Building Design Partnership and Teaching Assistant at the University of Massachusetts, where Gerald instructed undergraduate courses in plant identification and land grading. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Archaeology & Anthropology from the University of Bristol, a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Bachelor of Science with honors in Horticulture & Horticultural Science from the University of Reading.
