At Pasado’s Safe Haven, we envision a world where every animal is recognized as an individual with the right to live free from abuse, abandonment, neglect, and exploitation. Our Pet Services Program is focused on providing low-cost spay/neuter to marginalized populations who otherwise wouldn’t have access to this service and helping to prevent shelter overpopulation and unnecessary euthanasia.
The High Quality, High-Volume Spay/Neuter Veterinarian is responsible for overseeing all medical care and surgeries for the animals receiving services. This position is responsible for oversight of the controlled drugs and will work closely with the Regional Spay/Neuter Clinic Manager to ensure the program is operated efficiently and to its fullest potential, guaranteeing the safe sterilization of as many animals as possible in the community. Clinics operate from a mobile station that will will change locations within Snohomish county on a regular basis.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
Education Requirements as per Washington State Department of Health & Veterinary Board of Governors WAC 246-935-040.
Ability to perform or to be trained up to perform up to 35 hiqh-quality spays and neuters.
Ability to begin surgeries at 8:30am.
Ability to observe, assess, and respond to patient symptoms, reactions and recovery progress.
Ability to anticipate and identify problems and needs and solve them and/or communicate them appropriately.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to communicate complex processes/concepts to a wide variety of people, both in written and verbal form.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
A self-starter, able to prioritize effectively, possess strong organizational skills, and oral communication skills.
Be able to stand for extended periods of time while performing complex surgical procedures.
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Must pass a criminal background check.

Contract Position, 1-2 days per week (current operating schedule may be adjusted to accommodate candidate's schedule. Surgery time depends on clinic caseload; averages 5-6 hours.
Mobile Clinic (various locations primarily in Snohomish County & occasionally in King County)
Contract Rate: Negotiable
