Annie L.

Annie L. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Annie worked as a Front-end Engineering Lead at Pastel from August 2021 to the present, and prior to that, they served as a UI/UX Developer from October 2020 to August 2021. Annie was also self-employed from July 2016 onwards, working as a Multidisciplinary Designer, providing branding, design, copy, and various materials for print and digital marketing purposes. Annie also designed and maintained websites for clients using WordPress and Squarespace.

Annie worked as an Advocate at Hashnode from September 2021 to November 2021, contributing to the promotion and support of the platform. Before that, they served as a Front-End Developer at Trew Knowledge Inc. from July 2019 to September 2020. In this role, they built and completed the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of a large US news and e-commerce site and mentored new developers. Annie also worked on multiple projects within the first two months.

Prior to that, Annie was a Volunteer Coordinator and Administrative Assistant at The Japan Foundation, Toronto from August 2018 to April 2019. Their responsibilities included interviewing, training, and supervising volunteers, as well as designing and scheduling communication materials.

From 2010 to 2016, Annie worked as a Language Instructor at Gaba Corporation, delivering professional training to corporate and private clients. Annie managed client relations, scheduling, billing, and accounting, and was consistently recognized as the highest performing instructor.

Before that, Annie worked as a Web & Graphic Designer at Globe Software from February 2008 to September 2010, where they led the rebranding of the company's reporting software and provided website redesign and marketing collateral. Annie also worked as an Intermediate Web Designer at Tesco from July 2008 to December 2009, creating marketing designs and improving the customer journey online. Annie received three Tesco Value Awards for their outstanding work.

Annie also has experience as a Flash Web Designer at Reuters on a contract basis in 2008, where they provided layout design for the Formula 1 section and updated affiliate flash banners. In 2007, they worked as a 3-D Special Effects Artist at Dynamic Digital Depth, contributing to the production of stereo 3-D versions of film/TV and updating the company's corporate website.

Throughout their career, Annie has demonstrated their expertise in front-end development, UI/UX design, project management, training, and volunteer coordination, contributing to the success of various organizations.

Annie L. has a diverse education history. In 2005, they earned a BA degree in Multimedia Design from Curtin University. Afterward, they pursued further education in web development at Juno College of Technology. In 2019, Annie completed the Web Development Immersive program at Juno College. Prior to that, they obtained education in Web Development Fundamentals and Advanced Web Development at the same institution from 2018 to 2019. In addition to their formal education, Annie has obtained several certifications. In 2009, they received a TEFL Certificate from International TEFL Training (ITT) in London. In 2013, Annie obtained an Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI. Most recently, in 2018, they acquired a Smart Serve Ontario certification from The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
