Carmen Román, CHM, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Carmen began their career in 1999 as an Admin/Insurance Coordinator at Select Medical/Kessler Institute/Healthsouth, where they gained experience in insurance coordination and administration. From 2009 to 2014, Carmen worked in the Patient Finance Department at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, managing accounts and implementing an efficient collection system.

In 2014, Carmen transitioned to a role as a Consulting Practice Manager at FMKC, where they successfully launched a new dual specialty practice and managed various operations, including credentialing physicians and HR management. Carmen also worked as a Projects Manager/Client Liaison at Penn Credit Corporation from 2014 to 2017, managing day-to-day operations and liaising with clients.

Carmen's experience also includes roles as a Peer Tutor at Cedar Crest College, an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Ancora Education, and an Adjunct Faculty at Lehigh Carbon Community College, where they specialized in healthcare curriculum development and instruction. Carmen Román's education history begins with their high school education at Academia Inmaculada Concepcion, which they attended from 1982 to 1995. After completing high school, they enrolled at Universidad de Puerto Rico from 1995 to 1999 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Humanities. Later, from 2008 to 2013, Carmen pursued a degree in Healthcare Management at Cedar Crest College, focusing on the health care industry. In 2012, while still attending Cedar Crest College, they started studying Business/Managerial Economics, which they completed in 2016, earning their Bachelor's Degree. Furthermore, Carmen has additional certifications, including a Healthcare Management Certificate and various insurance-related certifications such as Life, Property, Casualty, Accident, Annuity, Supplemental, and Final Expense, which they obtained from the State of Pennsylvania.
