Gregory Makoul is the founder and CEO of PatientWisdom, Inc. Gregory has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including stints as a professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the founding director of the Connecticut Institute for Primary Care Innovation (CIPCI). In January 2014, they became an Executive in Residence at AVIA (Abundant Venture Innovation Accelerator).
Makoul’s experience as a doctor and healthcare administrator has given him a unique perspective on the needs of both patients and providers. In 2015, they founded PatientWisdom, Inc. with the mission of transforming healthcare by listening to the people involved. The company’s suite of digital platforms – PatientWisdom, ProviderWisdom, CommunityWisdom – helps health organizations become more responsive and successful by distilling real-world perspectives into meaningful, actionable insights.
Gregory Makoul has a BA in Biology-Psychology from Wesleyan University, an MA in Communication Studies and a PhD in Communication Studies from Northwestern University, and a PostDoc in Medical Education from Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine. Gregory is currently a Professor in the Department of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth College.
