David Lovell

David is an intellectual property and technology attorney with a knack for creatively tailoring legal strategies to meet his clients’ objectives. His practice emphasizes preparing and prosecuting patent applications, facilitating technology and IP transactions, and performing IP studies such as patent non-infringement, validity and freedom-to-operate analyses. He works in the areas of complex software, artificial intelligence and machine learning, communications technologies and more.

With an appetite for learning and a passion for staying current on the latest technology, David enjoys working with inventors and fueling the excitement for their innovations. In addition, he often conducts patent analyses in support of litigation or post-grant administrative proceedings.

As he worked towards his graduate degree in software engineering, David realized he had a growing interest in the legal and business aspects of technology, along with a zest for innovation. When he discovered IP law, he considered it the “best of both worlds.”
