Akeela Ahmed MBE is a dedicated social entrepreneur and advisor with extensive experience in promoting inclusivity and supporting vulnerable communities. As the Founder of Akeela Speaks We Hear, Akeela has created a platform for women, particularly from Muslim backgrounds, to share their voices without discrimination. Akeela serves as a Board Trustee for the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and as a Trustee for Pregnant Then Screwed, while also contributing as a Ministerially-appointed UK government advisor on the Anti-Muslim Hatred Working Group. Additionally, Akeela founded Seaside CIC, providing housing and support services in Brighton & Hove. Akeela's advisory role with the British Film Institute focuses on improving representations of Muslims in media, and Akeela has a robust background in nonprofit consultancy and leadership, including previous roles at Muslim Youth Helpline. Akeela's educational credentials include degrees from King's College London and UCL.
