Wang Jialin has a diverse range of work experience in the field of chemistry and engineering. Wang began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Harbin Institute of Technology, where they conducted research on rare-earth additives in phosphating solutions. Wang then moved on to East China University of Science and Technology, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on developing chemicals to separate crude oil from water. Wang Jialin joined Virginia Tech as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they studied tiny particle interactions in liquids and developed corrosion-resistant coatings for steel. Wang then became a Post-doctoral Associate at the Center for Advanced Separation Technologies, collaborating with NETL on research projects related to advanced separation technologies. Currently, they hold positions at PAVCO, INC., where they have served as an Instrumentation Manager and Organic Chemist, a Senior Research Chemist, and now as the R&D Director of Engineering. In their role at PAVCO, INC., Wang Jialin has led various research projects and provided technical support for the development of metal finishing products.

Wang Jialin completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech, spanning from 2002 to 2008. During the same period, they also obtained a Ph.D in the same field at Virginia Tech. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2002, Wang Jialin pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrochemical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, which they completed from 1995 to 1999.

In addition to their academic degrees, Wang Jialin has acquired several certifications. In June 2019, they obtained the Certified Electroplater Finishers (CEF) certification from The National Association for Surface Finishing. In the same month, they also completed the Fastening 101 - Understanding Threaded Fasteners course offered by the Fastener Training Institute. Earlier, in June 2018, Wang Jialin participated in the Coatings Science Short Course conducted by North Dakota State University. Most recently, in November 2022, they completed a two-day course on Internal QMS Auditing ISO 9001:2015, provided by Johannes A. M. Roovers.
