Sailesh Patnala is a founding engineer at pave.dev. Sailesh previously worked as a software engineer at BlackRock from July 2018 to August 2020. There, they built data pipelines to ingest large unstructured datasets from Bloomberg & DowJones news using Scala and Spark. Sailesh also developed a Python library for financial researchers to leverage NLP functionalities like sentiment analysis, entity recognition, and topic modeling. Additionally, they contributed to a model for boilerplate content recognition in broker reports to improve the accuracy of sentiment scores and support ticker-based analysis. Sailesh was part of BlackRock's 2-year Software Engineering Rotation Program, where they worked on various projects, including portfolio management tools, investment systems shared infrastructure, alpha generation platform - fixed income research, and portfolio analytics - FutureAdvisor.
