Alec Small, CFA, MFE has a diverse work experience in the finance industry. Alec started their career as an Analyst at Wedbush Securities, where they worked on the Repo Desk from July 2011 to October 2013. Alec then moved to Bloomberg LP as an intern in the Bloomberg Intelligence Investment Research department from May 2014 to August 2014.

In 2014, Alec joined Toyota North America as an Analyst in Sales & Trading. During their time there, they traded primary and secondary market corporate bonds, U.S. Treasuries, Agencies, Commercial Paper, and Yankee CDs. Alec also executed forward currency swaps and managed sales coverage for Toyota's commercial paper and Medium-Term Notes programs. Alec received the Adam Smith Award in 2016 for their work on a proprietary fixed income model.

Currently, Alec is working at Payden & Rygel as a Portfolio Manager - Absolute Return & Multi-Asset Credit, Senior Vice President. Prior to this role, they served as the Head Trader for Emerging Markets Debt and then as a Trader for the same department. Overall, Alec Small has demonstrated expertise in trading, portfolio management, and research across various financial institutions.

Alec Small, CFA, MFE obtained a Master's Degree in Financial Engineering from UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology & Law from the University of Southern California in 2011. Additionally, Alec Small holds certifications including Series 66 and Series 7 obtained from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Alec is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
