Jeff Mason, BBA, AWS CCP, 6S Green Belt

Jeff Mason has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jeff currently works as a Sr. Systems Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure at PayIt since 2021. In this role, they manage and maintains PayIt's cloud infrastructure primarily in Azure, with some functions in AWS and GCP. Jeff has expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows & Linux servers and workstations, with all servers being cloud-based.

Prior to PayIt, Jeff served as the Owner/CEO of Active Networks, a computer and network consulting company that they founded in 1999. Jeff held various certifications including Microsoft MCSE, MCP+Internet, Dell Managed Deployment Tech Lead, Cisco Pix firewall, and Citrix Administrator. Jeff was proficient in Active Directory and MS Exchange scripting, VBScript, VBA, JavaScript, and PowerShell scripting.

Before starting Active Networks, Jeff worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Sovereign Sportsman Solutions from 2021 to 2023. Jeff was responsible for various system engineering tasks during this time.

Additionally, Jeff has held positions such as Systems Administrator at CKE Restaurants, Inc. and System Administrator/Wintel Engineer at Bridgestone. At both companies, they managed servers and related hardware, with Bridgestone having international sites in China and Liberia.

Jeff also worked as a Systems Administrator at Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency from 2011 to 2015, where they managed Windows servers, Active Directory, DFS, SCCM, Exchange, and the network for multiple locations. Jeff implemented and managed Airwatch MDM and Ubuiqiti Airfiber wi-fi, resulting in cost savings and increased speed.

Furthermore, Jeff's experience includes roles such as Security Administrator/System Administrator at Tractor Supply Company, Network Engineer at BMI, and Consulting Security Administrator at Nashville Electric Service. Jeff had responsibilities related to server and network administration, security, and disaster recovery, utilizing scripting and automation tools.

Lastly, Jeff served as a Web Administrator/Security Administrator at Tennessee Department of Transportation, where they managed servers and network security for multiple state-wide sites and proposed a firewall and disaster recovery plan.

With their extensive experience and certifications, Jeff Mason has acquired a strong skill set in cloud infrastructure, system administration, network security, scripting, and automation.

Jeff Mason earned their Bachelor's of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Systems / Business from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) from 1994 to 2001. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer Programming (Business DP) with a minor in Accounting from Nashville State Community College from 1983 to 1985. Jeff also holds a high school diploma from Springfield High, where they studied General High School Studies and ranked in the top 50% of their class. In addition to their formal education, Jeff has obtained the certifications of Certified Six Sigma Green Belt from Bridgestone Americas in November 2020, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2020.
