Dr. Katherine Armstrong has a diverse range of work experience. Dr Katherine started their career as a Lunch time welfare assistant at St Wilfred’s Catholic Primary School, where they cared for a child with Downs Syndrome. Dr Katherine then worked as a Bakery Assistant at Country Bakery. In 2012, they worked as part of the Stock Room Team at Next Group PLC, where they learned the importance of meeting targets within a specific timeframe. The following year, they interned as a Quality Control Analyst at Teva Pharmaceuticals, gaining practical skills in a GMP laboratory environment. In 2014, they worked as a Research Scientist at Cardiff Electrochemical Surface Science, focusing on spectroscopic characterisation of chiral surface modifiers. From 2015 to 2019, they pursued their PHD at Cardiff University, where they researched electron transfer within photo-catalytic semiconducting materials. Dr Katherine'sresearch allowed their to write highly technical documents and deliver oral presentations to various audiences. Currently, they are employed as a Development Analyst at PCI Pharma Services, overseeing laboratory procedures and assisting in planning and prioritizing work. Dr Katherine Armstrong has a strong educational background in the field of Chemistry. From 2004 to 2009, they attended St Nicholas Catholic High School, where they completed their GCSEs. Following this, they enrolled at St Nicholas Catholic Sixth Form College from 2009 to 2011, studying Chemistry, Mathematics, Philosophy and Ethics, and History. In 2011, Dr Armstrong joined Cardiff University to pursue a Master of Chemistry degree, which they completed in 2015. Dr Katherine continued their education at Cardiff University from 2015 to 2019, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry.
