Mikko Hinkkanen has over 25 years of work experience in various roles. Mikko is currently working as a Customer Success Manager at PDSVISION since January 2021. Prior to this, from 2004 to 2021, they worked at PDSVision Oy as a Senior Application Specialist.
In 2007, Mikko had two simultaneous roles. Mikko worked as an MSc Thesis worker at TP-Tools Oy, where they conducted research on factors affecting surface quality of aluminium tire mold segment castings. Mikko achieved significant cost reduction and increased casting efficiency. In the same year, they also worked as a Researcher/Research Assistant at TTY, Valimoinstituutti, focusing on optimizing tire mold segment casting.
From 1998 to 2004, Mikko worked at Metso Foundries Jyväskylä, first as a Design Engineer, then as a Casting Engineer implementing CAD and casting simulation software and handling methods planning. Mikko eventually became an Engineering Manager, responsible for managing engineering and pattern shop staff, as well as developing pattern manufacturing.
Before that, in 1996, they worked as a Design Engineer at Vaahto Paper Technology Ltd, evaluating 3D CAD systems. In 1995, they had a trainee position at Kvaerner Masa-Yards, Technology, where they assisted welding engineers and completed their BSc thesis on Electro Slag Welding.
Mikko Hinkkanen has a diverse education history. Mikko began their academic journey at Parikkalan Lukio, where they completed their upper secondary school education from 1989 to 1992. Mikko then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, and Plastics Engineering from 1992 to 1996 at Karelia University of Applied Sciences.
After obtaining their BSc, Mikko attended the University of Jyväskylä from 2002 to 2004, where they studied Mathematics and completed the Approbatur syllabus and beyond. Following this, they enrolled at Tampere University of Technology in 1994 and continued their studies until 2009. Mikko earned their Master of Science degree with a major in General Materials Science and a minor in Production Engineering.
In addition to their formal education, Mikko Hinkkanen has also obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. Mikko became an ANSYS Certified Professional in September 2019 through ANSYS, Inc. Furthermore, they acquired certificates in Windchill Change & Product Structure Management in May 2016 and an Instructor Certificate in June 2015, both from PTC (formerly Parametric Technology Corporation).
