Charles Zetterstrom

Charles Zetterstrom serves as PTI’s Director of Wireless. Zetterstrom has over 40 years in the telecommunications industry and has extensive experience in the network engineering planning, construction, and operations areas. His experience with BellSouth International includes serving as Executive Director of Engineering and Operations for the cellular partnership “MOVICOM” in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Zetterstrom has been involved in all Latin America cellular radio telephone system implementations; which included the partnerships in Guadalajara, Mexico; Caracas, Venezuela; Montevideo, Uruguay and Santiago, Chile. In this capacity, he has directed or assisted in the implementation of nearly all BellSouth International wireless systems in Latin America.

As Executive Director of Network Implementation for Dynegy Connect LP, Zetterstrom was responsible for the broadband build-out of 45 major market cities. As VP of Engineering and Operations for Asian American Telecommunications Corporation (a Metromedia Company), Zetterstrom was responsible for the build-out of China Unicom’s PSTN in the Sichuan Province and the GSM cellular build-out in the city of Ningbo, China. Zetterstrom served as Executive Director and Technical Director of BellSouth’s new long distance business unit in Chile, known as BellSouth Communicaciones and was responsible for the network planning, design and implementation of the long distance network in Santiago, Chile.

Earlier in Zetterstrom’s career he held management positions with Sprint, United Telecommunication Inc. and Pacific Telephone Company.
