Jacinto Sá

Chief Science & Innovation Officer & co-founder at Peafowl Plasmonics AB

Jacinto Sá has extensive work experience in the field of physical chemistry. Jacinto is currently serving as the Chief Science & Innovation Officer and co-founder at Peafowl Plasmonics AB since March 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Chief Technology Officer and co-founder from March 2020 to February 2022 and Chief Executive Officer and co-founder from January 2018 to March 2020 at the same company.

Before joining Peafowl Plasmonics AB, Jacinto Sá worked at Uppsala University, where they held the position of Professor in Physical Chemistry since June 2020. Jacinto previously served as an Associate Professor from February 2018 to June 2020 and as a Tenure-track assistant professor from September 2014 to February 2018 at the same university.

Prior to Uppsala University, Jacinto Sá worked as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences since March 2014. Jacinto also worked as a Researcher at the Technical University Munich from February 2014 to June 2014.

Jacinto Sá has also worked as a Research Scientist at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from January 2013 to December 2013 and as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at ETH Zurich from August 2010 to December 2012.

Their previous work experience includes being a Postdoctoral Fellow at Queen's University Belfast from September 2007 to August 2010 and a Graduate Trainee at Technische Universität Wien from July 2003 to August 2004.

Jacinto Sá obtained a Master's degree in the field of analytical chemistry from Universidade de Aveiro. Jacinto attended this institution from 1998 to 2003. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physical Chemistry from the University of Aberdeen, which they completed from 2004 to 2007.
