James Swift, M.D., FAAP has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. James currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Pediatrix Medical Group, where they previously held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to their current role, Dr. Swift worked at MEDNAX as the Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer, responsible for developing and leading the Business Expansion team. James also served as the Regional President, South Central Region at MEDNAX, where they managed all regional teams and departments. Additionally, they held the position of Vice-President of Hospital Based Pediatric Services at MEDNAX, where they developed a national strategy to expand service platforms.

Before joining MEDNAX, Dr. Swift had roles at Sunrise Children's Hospital as the Medical Director and at Children's HealthCare Network, where they were the Founder and CEO. As CEO of Children's HealthCare Network, they established a clinically integrated physician service platform and developed a management services organization.

James Swift, M.D., FAAP completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at the University of La Verne from 1980 to 1984. James then obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin U-Med & Science in 1988. Following this, they completed an Internship in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine from 1988 to 1989. James then completed their Residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at the same institution from 1989 to 1992. From 1992 to 1995, they pursued a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, MLK Jr. Medical Center, and Children's Hospital of Orange County. Additionally, James Swift is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
