Esther Yu, Ph.D.

Esther Yu, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of regulatory affairs and scientific research. Currently, they hold the position of VP, Regulatory Affairs at Pendulum Therapeutics since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Zymergen as a Senior Director and then Director of Regulatory Affairs from July 2018 to April 2023. Esther also served as an Associate Director of Regulatory Sciences at Corbion from September 2017 to June 2018. Before that, they held the same position at TerraVia Holdings, Inc. from January 2016 to September 2017, and as an Associate Director of Molecular Biology & Regulatory Research from July 2014 to December 2015. Earlier in their career, they were a Senior Scientist at Solazyme, Inc. from 2011 to 2014, and at Arbor Fuel Inc from 2009 to 2011. Esther worked as a Mol Bio Scientist at Cara Therapeutics from 2005 to 2008. Their academic experience includes serving as a Post Doctoral Scientist at the University of Cambridge from 2001 to 2004, and as a Research Associate at Univ. CA Irvine from 1992 to 1997.

Esther Yu, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University in the years 1991 to 1995. Following this, they pursued further education and completed their Ph.D. in Molecular Biology & Neurosignaling at the University of Cambridge from 1997 to 2001.
