Ann-Marie Mason is chief legal officer for The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company. She leads the law department in providing cohesive strategies and solutions to meet the evolving business needs of the company.
Before being promoted to chief legal officer in 2021, Mason served as general counsel where she was responsible for all legal matters related to wholly-owned subsidiaries Penn Mutual Asset Management and Hornor, Townsend & Kent (HTK). Mason joined Penn Mutual in 2019 as vice president and head of shared services — enterprise compliance after 11 years with FINRA. At FINRA she rose to the role of vice president and counsel and provided legal and regulatory guidance on subject matters affecting registered investment advisers and broker-dealers. Prior to entering the financial services industry, Mason was a litigator at a law firm and started her professional career as a prosecutor in New York City.
Mason received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rochester and a doctor of law degree from New York University School of Law.
