Emily Hockaday

Emily Hockaday is a seasoned editorial professional with extensive experience in the publishing industry, currently serving as Senior Managing Editor at Penny Publications, LLC since February 2011. Emily’s responsibilities encompass copy editing, proofreading, and formatting fiction manuscripts, as well as layout design and deadline management for prominent science fiction magazines, Asimov’s Science Fiction and Analog Science Fiction and Fact. Additionally, Emily engages in author correspondence, manages social media content, and evaluates poetry submissions. Previous roles include adjunct professor positions at Globe Institute of Technology and New York University, an editorial intern with Show Business Magazine, and various teaching roles within the theater department at Hofstra University. Emily holds an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in Theater from Hofstra University.
