Benjamin Lacey has a diverse work experience in finance and operations. Benjamin began their career at Pocock Hudson Chartered Accountants, where they served as a Business Advisory Services Accountant, responsible for preparing financial statements and tax compliance work for a variety of entities. Benjamin then joined Foodstuffs (Wellington) Co-operative Ltd as a Financial Accountant, where they prepared accounts, management reports, and budgets. Lacey later joined Foodstuffs North Island Limited as a Team Leader in Retail Finance, where they oversaw a team responsible for preparing annual and interim financial reports and implementing new accounting systems. Benjamin then transitioned to a role at Pentland Brands, starting as a Business Reporting Analyst and advancing to Head of Finance and Operations for Australia/New Zealand. In this role, they led a team and was responsible for financial planning, budgeting, and reporting across the business. Throughout their career, Lacey has demonstrated strong financial expertise, project management skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Benjamin Lacey completed their BCA degree in Accounting and Finance from Victoria University of Wellington from 2007-2010. Benjamin also completed a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting from the same university during the same period. Additionally, they obtained a Chartered Accountant certification from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 2013.
