Dan Hoar

As Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee, Dan Hoar brings excellent leadership and strategic skills in addition to an impeccable background in accounting. He also has a unique and extensive understanding of People’s Trust’s financial operations. Since joining the company in 2014, he’s progressed upward through roles as a Financial Analyst, Accounting Manager, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, and Managing Director of Finance.

In his CFO role, Dan oversees all financial and accounting responsibilities for People’s Trust Insurance and its affiliates. Using his analytical skills, he also develops and communicates a strategic vision for the company.

Dan’s talent for simplifying complex mathematical concepts originally steered him to become a math teacher. While on that path at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, he felt he needed a greater challenge. He took his brother’s advice to consider accounting and was mesmerized by how the field used math as its own language. Even though it added an extra semester of classes, Dan pivoted, changed majors, and graduated with a BS in Accounting.
