Ivan Kovtun

Ivan Kovtun has extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Ivan started their career as a scientist at the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing Department of the International Research & Training Centre UNESCO in 1999. Ivan then worked as a researcher at the International Research and Training Center of Information Technologies and Systems (IRTC ITS) from 1999 to 2007. In 2007, they became the Head of Research at Viewdle until January 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as an Engineering Manager at Motorola Mobility. Ivan then joined Google as a Senior Software Engineer from May 2016 to March 2018. Currently, they serve as a Senior Scientist at Percipient.ai starting from March 2018.

Ivan Kovtun began their education journey at the Ukrainian Physics and Mathematics Lyceum of Kyiv University from 1991 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Mathematics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which they completed from 1994 to 1999. Ivan then attended the International Research and Training Center for Information Technologies and Systems, where they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from 1998 to 2000. Ivan furthered their studies at the same institution, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they also studied at Technische Universität Dresden, where they pursued a PhD., but details regarding the specific field of study are unavailable.
