Naja von Schmude has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Naja is the Founder of Peregrine Technologies GmbH, a Berlin-based tech start-up focused on building a safer and more sustainable mobility ecosystem using video analytics. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Autonomos - a TomTom company, where they led the localization activities for the autonomous driving team and designed a flexible localization framework. Naja also has experience as a Research Engineer at Bosch, where they conducted research on visual localization and mapping. Naja has also worked as an Avocational iOS Developer and a Visiting Doctoral Student at Bosch North America. Naja's early career includes roles as a Team Lead of a student project at Freie Universität Berlin and as a Student Assistant in multiple capacities at the same university and Fraunhofer FOKUS.
Naja von Schmude completed their education in the field of Informatik (Computer Science). Naja obtained their Diplom degree from Freie Universität Berlin, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a higher degree and received a Dr. rer. nat. (Doctorate of Science) from Heidelberg University, specializing in Informatik (Computer Science) as well. This doctoral program spanned from 2012 to 2017.
