Kelleye Chube is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Performance Health, a leader in consumer healthcare and the largest global manufacturer and distributor of products to the physical therapy, sports medicine, and rehabilitation markets. As General Counsel, Kelleye is responsible for coordinating all legal activities of the Company and minimizing its potential liability and exposure.
Kelleye joined the Company in August 2022. Kelleye was previously General Counsel & Ethics Officer to the Illinois Commission on Equity & Inclusion. Prior to the appointment at the Commission, she served as the General Counsel & Ethics Officer to the Illinois Human Rights Commission, where she was tasked with assisting the agency in creating and implementing a strategic plan to eliminate a 10-year backlog of cases pending before the Commission. Kelleye has worked in various roles in the public and private sectors, including counsel to the State of Illinois Office of the Governor where she advised senior staff on legal issues pertaining to the Illinois Executive Branch.
For a ten-year period prior to working in public policy, Kelleye served as General Counsel and Secretary for Shared Technologies, Inc., where she created and managed a legal department, negotiated major loan facilities, managed the company’s intellectual property portfolio, reviewed, and implemented legal and compliance policies and structured, drafted, and negotiated US merger and acquisition transactions, distribution contracts and software joint ventures. In other legal roles, Kelleye conducted internal investigations, and worked with clients to mitigate risk through ethics, compliance, and operational improvements.
Kelleye has over 20+ years of experience negotiating complex corporate transactions with major healthcare providers, software companies, Big Four accounting firms, and large financial institutions. Kelleye earned her law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. She is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
