Khalid El-Gendy

Khalid El-Gendy currently serves as Vice President of Healthcare at Permira since July 2021. Prior to this role, Khalid held several leadership positions at Smiths Medical, including Vice President & General Manager for the APAC region and Vice President of Global Strategy & Commercial Excellence from June 2020 to July 2021. Khalid's experience at Alcon spanned from June 2015 to April 2020, where responsibilities included Country General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, General Manager for the Greece and Bulgaria Cluster, and Head of Strategy for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Earlier in Khalid's career, a consultancy role at McKinsey & Company was maintained from September 2010 to May 2015, following a tenure as a General and Abdominal Surgeon at the NHS from August 2004 to August 2010. Khalid holds a Bachelor's degree in Developmental Neurobiology and an M.B.B.S. from King's College London, earned between 1998 and 2004.
