Patrick was appointed CEO of the Perpetual Guardian Group in 2020. He brings extensive experience in the business and the industry, having spent more than six years as Complectus’ Group General Counsel, building the Group through a series of acquisitions and integrations and fronting the relationships with investors, regulators, government, advisors, and media. He then planned and executed the separation of the Group’s Corporate Trust divisions, an NZ legal first, ahead of successful divestment in 2021.
Prior to joining Perpetual Guardian, Patrick practiced law at Russell McVeagh and worked for international law firms in Dublin and Malta – specializing in corporate and commercial law, capital markets and joint ventures, and shareholder arrangements. He was named NZ Young In-house Lawyer of the year in 2017 and is a former international representative judo player and powerlifter.
