Joss Whittaker

Joss Whittaker is a Facilities Archaeologist at the Washington State Department of Natural Resources since December 2023 and an Archaeologist at Perteet Inc. since June 2019, with expertise in CRM fieldwork, report writing, and data recovery. Joss has served as a Graduate Staff Assistant at the University of Washington since September 2011, managing laboratories in the anthropology department, and held various archaeologist roles including with Willamette Cultural Resources Associates, Ltd., focusing on data recovery and fieldwork. Previous experience includes positions at ICF International, Burke Museum, and as a Natural Resources Specialist with the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, alongside a scientific technician role with the Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife. Joss earned a Master of Arts in Anthropology (Archaeology) from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Ancient Studies from Brown University.
