Russell Medina has worked in a variety of roles in the business and technology sectors since 1975. Russell began their career in the US Army, where they served as an Acquisition and R&D specialist and US Army Infantry leader. In 1996, they joined Level 3 Communications as the Director of Sales Engineering and Business Development for the West and Central Region. During their time there, they established a Telecom, Managed Services, Internet, and Application Sales, Sales Support, and Sales Engineering group. In 1999, they became the CEO and Board Member of VCities, an Application Service Provider Company. In 2006, they became the CEO of Broadlink Communications, a Managed Services and Telecom Company with a business client base of over 6,000. From 2015 to 2017, they were the Managing General Partner of MIT Group Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran and Minority Owned Company. During this time, they supported Technology Transformation across the company and developed and deployed VOIP and Unified Messaging platforms. In 2017, they became the Executive Director of NPower, a nonprofit. Finally, in 2022, they became the CEO of Pet Pro Supply Co.
Russell Medina received a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from the United States Military Academy at West Point. In 2003, they completed a Minority Business Enterprise Certificate from the Texas McCombs School of Business in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. In 1990, they obtained an Acquisition and Procurement certification from the Defense Acquisition University. Finally, they earned a Master of Public Administration in Housing for Veterans from Webster University, with a focus on Public Administration and Affordable Housing for Veterans.
