James Petersen

James Petersen P.E. is the Principal of Petersen Engineering Inc since 1991, a firm recognized for its sustainable MEP/FP design and focus on high performance and energy efficiency. In addition to leading Petersen Engineering, James serves as a Senior Engineer pro bono for Save the Indoor Portsmouth Pool, contributing engineering expertise to community projects. As Co-Chair for the BuildingEnergy 2019 conference, James aims to promote sustainable building practices. James has also held leadership roles as President of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth NH and Board Chair for both Seacoast Waldorf School and the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association. James holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Philosophy from the University of New Hampshire.
