Calum Rankin

Calum Rankin has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering industry. Calum started their career as an Apprentice Instrument Technician at Score Group plc, where they gained valuable skills in instrument maintenance, calibration, repair, and commissioning, as well as engineering design and manufacture of valve automation systems. Calum later became a Valve Automation Team Leader at the same company, where they worked closely with clients and colleagues to ensure projects were delivered on time and within budget.

Afterwards, Calum joined Petrofac as an Instrument Technician and then as a Lead Instrument Technician in the maintenance department. In these roles, they were responsible for preventive and restorative maintenance duties, including servicing, fault diagnosis, and repair of instrumentation and control systems. Calum also played a key role in the installation and commissioning of a new fire and gas system.

Calum then transitioned to Chevron, where they worked as an Instrument Technician in the Intervention Team, focusing on maintaining and repairing instrumentation systems.

Currently, Calum is working at Petrofac as the ICS/OT Cyber Security Lead. In this role, they collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate cyber risks. Calum is responsible for conducting security and risk assessments of ICS/OT systems and developing risk mitigation plans based on assessments and site surveys.

Throughout their career, Calum has demonstrated expertise in various areas, including valve/actuator sizing calculations, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric control systems, as well as topside process, ESD, and HIPPS valve systems. Calum has also gained experience in project management.

Calum Rankin's education history includes the following:

- From 2008 to 2010, they attended Banff and Buchan College and obtained an HNC degree in Mechatronics.

- From 2006 to 2008, they attended Banff & Buchan College and obtained an NC degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Calum Rankin has obtained various certifications including GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GCISP) from GIAC Certifications in July 2020, and ICS410 from the SANS Institute in 2020. Calum also has certifications and training in emergency response, small bore tubing assemblies, offshore first aid, fire and gas control systems, electrical authorization, safe system of work, acoustic monitoring, and tube fitting installation.
