Kevin Kitz has over 35 years of experience in the geothermal power industry. Kevin currently works as a Senior Consulting Engineer at KitzWorks, LLC, where they help clients optimize their projects and identify cost savings and revenue enhancements. Their areas of expertise include geothermal power, geothermal heat pumps, and non-power facility energy and process strategies. Kevin has worked with various clients, including Petrolern LLC, the US Department of Energy, and major mining and manufacturing companies.
Prior to their current role, Kitz was the VP of Project Development at U.S. Geothermal Inc. from 2003 to 2018. In this position, they oversaw geothermal power plant development and operations, negotiated Power Purchase Agreements, and implemented process improvement initiatives.
Earlier in their career, Kitz worked at Unocal Corp - Geothermal Division from 1985 to 2002, starting as an Engineer and progressing to Senior Engineer. Kevin conducted engineering and technical analysis across various geothermal operations, including the Geysers and the Salton Sea in California, Tiwi and Mak-Ban in the Philippines, and Salak in Indonesia. Kevin also managed large capital projects and sought out opportunities to improve operations and profits.
Kevin Kitz studied at the University of California, Davis from 1979 to 1985. During this period, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
