Maher al-Wahaibi

Maher Al-Wahaibi has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors. From 2018, they worked at Petroleum Development Oman as an Engineering Advisor before progressing to the role of Head of Surface Learning in April 2021.

Prior to that, Maher worked at Oman Environmental Services Holding Co. SAOC - be'ah. Maher held several positions, including Waste Management Engineer, Transfer Stations and Transportation Specialist, and Section Head in the Integrated MSW Sector Planning department. In these roles, they were responsible for the planning and establishment of transfer stations in Oman, utilizing MS Project software to manage resources and costs effectively.

Before joining be'ah, Maher worked at ALSAFA Environmental & Technical Services as an Environmental Engineer from 2008 to 2010.

Maher's early career included a role as an Environmental Engineer at HMR Environmental Consultants, where they conducted site inspections and was involved in hazardous prevention planning for construction projects in Musandam.

Maher Al-Wahaibi's education history includes a range of qualifications in engineering and waste management. Maher obtained a B.Sc degree from Sultan Qaboos University in 2007. In 2011, they completed a degree in Engineering with a focus on Waste Management from Newcastle University. Maher further pursued their studies at the University of Leeds, where they obtained an Msc(Eng) in Environmental Engineering & Project Management/Waste Management in 2016. Moreover, they have acquired several additional certifications in various fields, including leadership, time management, data visualization, strategic thinking, and business strategy.
