Junchi Z. has four years of work experience. In 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Network Technology, BUPT. In 2015, they worked as a Website Developer Internship at China Finance Online Co. Limited. In 2016, they worked as a BI Team JAVA Developer at the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI), where they designed a web-based Java portal for IBM Cognos BI Platform and enhanced the Cognos report system to display images stored in Oracle database. Since 2017, they have been employed as a Software Engineer at Petuum, Inc.

Junchi Z. received a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2014. junchi then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) at Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, graduating in 2017.
