Michael Waldner

Michael Waldner is the current CEO and co-founder of Pexapark. Prior to this, they served as the head of origination and sales for Eastern Europe at Axpo Trading AG from October 2013 to July 2017. Michael was also a member of the executive management board of Axpo Trading and the executive team of Axpo Group. Waldner received awards for being the #1 Power Dealer in Eastern Europe from Energy Risk (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016), as well as the #1 Energy Trader in CEE (2014, 2015). In addition, they were named Most Trusted Energy Trader (2014, 2015) in the RES sector in Poland.

Before joining Axpo Trading AG, Waldner served as the head of energy ventures at EGL AG from June 2003 to September 2013. In this role, they were responsible for structuring and risk management of PPA transactions with renewable energy producers. This included market access, long-term price risk taking, portfolio management, and project finance requirements.

Waldner began their career as an associate at McKinsey & Company from January 2001 to December 2003.

Michael Waldner has a Master of Science in Industrial Management and Manufacturing Engineering from ETH Zürich. Michael also has certification from Pexapark in Pexapark PPA Academy and Venturelab in Innosuisse Business Growth ICT.
