Team Lead Engineering at Pfizer

Maarten Van Assel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Maarten began their career as an Intern at Electrabel before moving on to EDF-Luminus as a Process Engineer. Maarten then joined Electrabel again, this time working as a SHR Engineer and later as a Nuclear Trainee. After that, they worked at Capsugel as a Utilities & Project Engineer, where they were responsible for maintenance, shutdowns, and projects related to the utilities installation of the plant. Maarten then joined Lonza as a Utilities Coordinator before taking on the role of Maintenance Supervisor at Pfizer. Currently, they serve as a Team Lead Engineering at Pfizer.

Maarten Van Assel completed their Master's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering from HOGENT in the years 2006-2010. In 2011, they studied Process instrumentation and Industrial energy saving at VIK / KVIV. Maarten also obtained certifications in contractor safety for operational managers and the Pressure Equipment Directive from Vinçotte in the same year. Additionally, in 2010, they received training in gas turbine process control from GE and gas turbine technics from KEMA. Prior to their university education, Maarten attended Atheneum Lokeren, where they studied Latin Mathematics from 2002-2006. In 2012-2013, they pursued a nuclear traineeship at GDF SUEZ.
