Myung Hwangbo has extensive work experience in the field of computer vision and deep learning. They have held various roles at Phantom AI, starting as the Director of Computer Vision from May 2017 to April 2019. They then progressed to the position of Senior Director of Computer Vision from May 2019 to April 2022. Currently, Myung Hwangbo is serving as the VP of Computer Vision and Deep Learning at Phantom AI, a position they have held since May 2022.
Prior to joining Phantom AI, Myung Hwangbo worked at Intel Corporation in different capacities. They started as a Research Scientist at Intel Labs from September 2013 to October 2015. Subsequently, they served as a Computer Vision Engineer at the Perceptual Computing Group from November 2015 to May 2017.
Before their time at Intel Corporation, Myung Hwangbo was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Quality of Life Technology Center (QoLT) at Carnegie Mellon University from April 2012 to August 2013.
Their earliest work experience was at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) as a Research Scientist. They worked there from March 1997 to August 2003.

Myung Hwangbo pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology. Afterwards, they furthered their education by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University - Robotics Institute, which was completed in 2012.
