Margaret Wilsher

Margaret Wilsher is a highly accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in respiratory medicine and health leadership. Currently serving as a Board Member at PHARMAC since July 2023, Margaret has held numerous prestigious positions including Respiratory Physician, Chief Medical Officer, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Te Whatu Ora | Te Toka Tumai Auckland since 1988. Additionally, Margaret has contributed to academia as an Honorary Professor and Associate Professor at The University of Auckland since 2010. With a long-standing commitment to Auckland Medical Specialists and the Auckland Health Foundation, Margaret has also participated in national health governance through roles in the Ministry of Health New Zealand and has served as a Crown Monitor for the Capital & Coast District Health Board. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and an MBChB from the University of Otago, along with fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. Recently, Margaret became a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
