Gavin Stewart

Gavin Stewart has a strong background in scientific environmental health and safety (EHS) roles. Gavin began their career at Merck Sharp & Dohme, where they worked for over 16 years in various positions, including Chemist, Staff Chemist, Research Chemist, and Senior Scientist. During this time, they also took on the responsibility of Scientific EHS Lead. In 2016, Gavin joined Pharmaron as Associate Principal Scientist and Site EHS Manager (Acting), where they continued to focus on EHS responsibilities. In 2018, they transitioned into the role of Associate Principal Scientist and Scientific EHS Lead at Pharmaron. Gavin's work experience highlights their expertise in EHS and their ability to take on leadership roles within scientific organizations.

Gavin Stewart holds a Master of Chemistry (MChem) with First Class Honours degree from The University of Edinburgh, which they completed from 1995 to 2000. In 2019, they obtained the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management from NEBOSH. In 2021, they completed the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence, also from NEBOSH. Currently, Gavin is pursuing the IOSH Certificate in Managing Safely from IOSH, expected to be completed in 2023.
