Roberta Tayah

School Principal at Gallup McKinley County Schools

Roberta Tayah has extensive work experience in education and leadership. Roberta started their career as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Arizona in 2003 and also worked as a High School Guidance Counselor at Ha:San Leadership Academy during the same period.

In 2008, they became a Middle School (6-8) Principal at Window Rock Unified School District and held this role until 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they served as the Dine Bi Olta Principal at the same district.

Roberta then joined Zuni Public School District in 2013 as a School Principal for grades 9-12. Roberta continued in this role until 2014 when they moved to Gallup McKinley County Schools, where they are currently employed as a School Principal.

Roberta Tayah has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Language, Reading, and Culture from the University of Arizona, which they obtained from 2003 to 2016. Roberta also holds an EdM in Administration, Planning, & Social Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, completed from 1992 to 1993. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in various education-related roles from both the Arizona Department of Education and the Public Education Department of the State of New Mexico.
