Laura Lenz has extensive work experience in various roles. Starting in 1993, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. In 1995, they held positions at both The Heritage Foundation, where they worked in Development, and the Council of Graduate Schools, where they served as a Meeting Planner, Assistant Editor, and Admin Assistant. From 1996 to 2002, Laura worked at the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an Intelligence Research Specialist. In 2006, they joined Pherson Associates, LLC, where they held multiple roles including Analytic Tradecraft Advisor, Mentor, Instructor, and Leadership Coach. At Pherson Associates, Laura utilized their expertise in analytic tradecraft to mentor and instruct analysts and managers, as well as provided coaching to leaders at all levels. Lastly, in 2018, Laura briefly worked as an Adjunct Professor at Marymount University.
Laura Lenz's education history includes a Leadership Certificate from George Mason University in 2019, where they focused on Leadership Coaching for Organizational Wellbeing. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University from 1993 to 1996. Laura also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and History from Regis University, which they completed between 1989 and 1993. In addition to their academic qualifications, Laura Lenz has obtained several certifications, including the Reframing Structured Analytic Techniques Certification, Diagnostic Analysis Certification, Strategic Foresight Analysis Certification, and Structured Analytic Techniques Certification from Pherson Associates. Laura also holds the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation, and they are a member of the ICF.
