Justin Hazen, MD, FACEP has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and organizations related to emergency medicine and healthcare. Justin began their career in 1995 as a Lieutenant in the New Mexico Mounted Patrol. In 2001, they joined the Albuquerque Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer and Medical Director, specializing in tactical emergency medicine. Justin also served as a Tactical Emergency Medicine Physician for the Albuquerque Police Department SWAT. In 2004, they became an Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico Hospital. In 2011, they joined the Department of Veterans Affairs as an Attending Physician. In 2014, they held multiple positions as the Medical Director for Los Alamos Fire Department, Bandelier National Park, and as the President of Duke City HealthCare. In 2018, they became the Medical Director for PHI Inc. In 2019, they started their own company, New Mexico Tactical Emergency Medical Support, where they serve as the Company Owner. Dr. Hazen's work experience showcases their expertise in emergency medicine and their commitment to serving in various critical roles in different organizations.

Justin Hazen, MD, FACEP has a strong educational background in the field of emergency medicine. Justin obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General from The University of New Mexico in 1995. Dr. Hazen then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, specializing in Emergency Medicine Residency Program from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they continued their education at the same institution to complete an additional Emergency Medicine Residency Program from 2001 to 2004, resulting in him earning the title of Doctor of Medicine (MD). Finally, in 2004, Dr. Hazen pursued a one-year Emergency Medical Services Fellowship at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, ultimately earning their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree as well. Their education history demonstrates a continuous commitment to emergency medicine and further specialization in the field.
