Leadership In Public Service Fellow at Phillips Brooks House Association Inc.

Maxwell Surprenant is a Leadership in Public Service Fellow at Phillips Brooks House Association Inc., contributing to articles published in the Harvard Gazette. As an Education Mentor for the Crimson Summer Academy, Maxwell supports high school students in their college admissions journey. In 2008, Maxwell co-founded Catching Joy Inc., which promotes volunteerism and has mobilized approximately 100,000 participants in service activities. Maxwell serves as a Youth Advisory Board Global Ambassador for the Born This Way Foundation Channel Kindness Blog and was recognized as a Global Finalist for RISE For The World. Previously, Maxwell worked as a journalist for the Los Angeles Times High School Insider and received the 2021 Daily Point of Light Award from Points of Light. Maxwell's accolades include 18 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and participation in the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps, where notable interviews were conducted. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature at Harvard University, Maxwell graduated from St. Sebastian's School in June 2022.
