Michael Ott, FRAeS has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Michael began their career as a Aviator/Forward Air Controller in the U.S. Marine Corps from May 1983 to November 1995. Michael then worked as an Operations Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency from April 1996 to April 2001. Michael joined the Phoenix Air Group in April 2001 and held various roles including Captain of Learjet 35/36 and Gulfstream I/II/III, Aviation Safety Program Manager, and Director of Program Operations. Michael also served as a Board Member at the Georgia Business Aviation Association from May 2014 to May 2017. In January 2018, they became an IS-BAO Standards Board Member at the International Business Aviation Council. Lastly, Michael is currently a member of the Safety Committee and Communication and Events Team Lead at the National Business Aviation Association since September 2017.
Michael Ott, FRAeS, has a diverse education history. Michael attended the U.S. Naval Academy from 1979 to 1983, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in English. In 1992, they pursued further education at Troy University and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in International Relations, completing their studies in 1994.
In recent years, Michael Ott has continued to advance their knowledge and expertise. From 2019 to 2021, they enrolled in Purdue University - The Graduate School and completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Aviation and Aerospace Management. During the same period, they also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Aviation Safety Management from the same institution.
Currently, Michael Ott is pursuing a Doctorate degree in Technology at Purdue University - The Graduate School, with an expected completion date in 2025.
