Annarita Marrano

Agbiodata Program Coordinator at Phoenix Bioinformatics

Annarita Marrano is an accomplished professional in the field of genomics and genetics, currently serving as the AgBioData Program Coordinator at Phoenix Bioinformatics since November 2021 and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Massachusetts Boston since September 2019. Previously, Annarita worked as a Post-Doc researcher at the University of California, Davis from January 2017 to September 2019, focusing on the genomics and genetics of walnut (J. regia). Annarita's academic journey includes a PhD at the University of Padova, where research centered on developing a high-throughput SNPs panel in grapevine (V. vinifera), as well as studies on the differentiation between cultivated and wild grapevine accessions at Fondazione Edmund Mach. Additional experience includes visiting PhD research at UC Davis and a trainee position at the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics, working on barley leaf stripe resistance. Annarita holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Bari.
