After completing their undergraduate studies in Biology at the American University of Beirut, Halim Jubran worked as a project manager for Forrest Innovations, where they were responsible for the production of sterile male mosquitoes to combat the spread of the Zika virus. Halim then went on to co-found Phytolon, a company that is dedicated to developing new methods for the delivery of active RNA molecules into mosquitoes to generate RNAi effect. Phytolon's mission is to provide a more cost effective and efficient way to produce dsRNA in-vitro.
After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Halim Jubran pursued a Master of Science in Biochemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Halim then went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry at the same school, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Biotechnology at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Jubran has also spent time as a visiting PhD fellow at the University of Freiburg.
