SUMMARY:
The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Director, Aircraft Maintenance, is responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance, repair, and testing operations for the company's aircraft fleet. This senior role requires ensuring compliance with FAA and NAVAIR regulations, managing maintenance schedules, and leading a team of managers and technicians to maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the maintenance department, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of aircraft to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA and NAVAIR regulations.
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Ensure compliance with FAA part 145 requirements and maintain AS9100 quality system standards.
Directly manage and support a team of maintenance managers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Coordinate and oversee aircraft testing procedures in alignment with FAA and NAVAIR standards.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities.
Monitor and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring documentation meets regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to aircraft maintenance and repair.
Stay updated on industry standards, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting aircraft maintenance and repair.
Lead initiatives to improve maintenance processes and reduce operational costs while maintaining high safety standards.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of FAA and NAVAIR maintenance processes and regulations.
Strong understanding of FAA part 145 requirements and AS9100 quality systems.
Proven experience in leading and managing aircraft maintenance teams and coordinating repair activities.
Excellent problem-solving skills and technical expertise in aircraft maintenance.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a related field (preferred).
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace maintenance and repair.
Experience with FAA part 145 repair station operations.
Prior experience in a senior management or director-level role in aircraft maintenance.
