Ben Colgan

Ben Colgan is a seasoned professional in broadcast operations with extensive experience in technical resource management and live broadcast sound desk operations. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Resource Manager at Picture Shop since April 2015, Ben oversees studio operations for BBC Sports News output across various channels, managing EVS LSM operation, ingest/playout, and networking functions. Prior roles include Multi-Skilled Technical Operator at Satellite Information Services Ltd., where responsibilities encompassed live sound mixing and VT operation, and Equipment Allocator at dock10, contributing to the establishment of operational procedures. Ben began the career as a Technical Operator at SIS LIVE and has also held a position as Transmission Operator at Ideal World plc. Educational qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Media Production and Technology from the University of Central Lancashire.
